In May 2014 SSWEN undertook a research study funded by UNDEF, of women civil society organisations across the states of Northern Bahr el Ghazel, Western Bahr el Ghazel, Lakes, Warrap, Western Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria and Central Equatoria. The purpose of mapping these organisations has been to build a national database of women CSO’s and help inform the framework through which SSWEN can engage with women CSOs in the constitution making processes. This funding has enabled SSWEN to better understand the strengths and gaps in capacity, geographic coverage, programming and strategic partnerships and thereby facilitate the mobilization and development of a common agenda towards increasing the participation of women in the constitutional review process.
